Project Management

We like to take a project management role for resource consent applications, preferably from the start of the project.  This allows us to identify any environmental issues from the beginning and collaborate with your designer/architect to achieve the best way forward. We also determine whether your proposal requires input from additional experts such as engineers, landscape architects and ecologists. We have a network of professionals in these fields which we can utilise and subsequently co-ordinate any required technical reports needed.  Once we have lodged your application with Council, we will manage the application through to a successfull conclusion.

Application Preparation

In our preparation we will

  • Review your proposal against the relevant Council planning rules.

  • Visit the subject site.

  • Identify any interested/affected parties such as neighbouring landowners, DOC and iwi and consult where necessary.

  • Determine if additional experts are required to support the application.

  • Complete a 'Planning Assessment'.

  • Lodge the application with Council and liaise with Council staff.

Planning Assessment

As part of our application preparation we complete a 'Planning Assessment'.  This is a report which includes an assessment of environmental effects, whereby we address the relevant environmental considerations for your project, which may include amenity, public access, natural character, landscapes and ecology and provide appropriate mitigation and avoidance measures in relation to any adverse effects to these environmental considerations.  We also assess your application against any relevant objectives and policies, national standards, and the Resource Management Act 1991.
